The AIA Los Angeles Chapter Nominating Committee will meet to compile a list of nominated and solicited names for the following offices for the 2027 AIA|LA Board of Directors.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR:
For the role of Chapter President, a nominee is required to be an Architect Member with a strong understanding of the Chapter, the Board, and issues pertaining to membership and the profession.

To ensure that these requirements are met, candidacy for the position of Vice President, which transitions to President the following year, is available to recent AIA|LA Board Officers, Directors, or Chapter representatives to AIA CA, and only after completing their current term of office.

In the event that none of the above-mentioned Board members submits their nomination for Vice President/President Elect, said position becomes open for nominations to all Architect Members in good standing of the AIA Los Angeles Chapter.

(1) Vice President / President-Elect    
(position available serving a 3-year term: 2027 VP, 2028 President, 2029 Past President)

(1) Treasurer
(position available serving a 2-year term: Jan 2027-Dec 2028)

(two positions available serving a 3-year term: Jan 2027-Dec 2029)

(1) Ex Officio Associate Director (position available serving a 1-year term [2027] and advancing to Associate Director for another 1-year term [2028].) The Ex-Officio Associate Director and Associate Director also serve as Vice-Chair and Chair of the AIA|LA Emerging Professionals Committee.

If you are an AIA|LA Architect member-in-good-standing interested in being considered for one of the open positions (or an AIA|LA Associate AIA member-in-good-standing interested in the Associate Director position), please submit your letter of interest by Friday July 10, 2026 at 12:00 noon PT.

Be sure to include the specific Board position you are interested in.

Important Note about the Two-Stage Nomination Process:
This is the first of two opportunities to submit your name for the 2027 Board election. In this initial round (Phase 1), the Nominating Committee will consider all AIA|LA Architect members in good standing, including members who have submitted a letter of interest, and determine their list of nominees for each open position.

Phase 2:
This list of candidates will be shared with the membership via email, and then an open solicitation for additional nominees will occur from Friday August 7 – Friday September 4, 2026.

During this second, open solicitation period, any AIA|LA Architect member-in-good-standing may add their name to the ballot, with the signed endorsement of (3) other AIA|LA Architect members-in-good-standing.
