The AIALA Nominating Committee, led by 2021 Chapter Vice President/2022 President Elect Mitra Memari, AIA, is pleased to announce the names of the following members, who have been nominated as candidates for the 2022 AIALA Board:

SELF-NOMINATION PROCESS:

If you are an Architect Member-in-Good-Standing of the AIALA Chapter, you are invited to submit your name to run for any of the following open offices:

(1) Vice President / President-Elect    
(position available serving a 3-year term: 2022 VP, 2023 President, 2024 Past President)

(1) Secretary
(position available serving a 2-year term: Jan 2022-Dec 2023)

(3) Directors
(positions available serving a 3-year term: Jan 2022-Dec 2024)

(1) AIA California Representative
(position available serving a 2-year term: Jan 2022-Dec 2023)

(1) Ex Officio Associate Director (position available serving a 1-year term [2022] and advancing to Associate Director for another 1-year term [2023])

Each nomination must be in writing (Word or PDF format, please) and must be seconded via signature by three (3) AIALA Chapter Architect Members-in-Good-Standing.

Please include:

* Your platform of 100 words or fewer (please observe exact word count)
* Biography of 100 words or fewer (please observe exact word count)
* Digital color photograph of yourself, JPG format, at least 300 dpi, at the finished size of 1.5″ wide by 2″ tall

Properly executed self-nominations must be received no later than Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

CALL FOR EX OFFICIO ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR NOMINATIONS
ATTN: AIA Los Angeles Associate Members

The AIA Los Angeles extends an invitation to our Associate members to submit your name for consideration for the open position of Ex Officio Associate Director on the AIALA 2022 Board of Directors. This Board member serves a 2-year term: one year as Ex Officio Associate Director, which is a non-voting position, followed by one year as Associate Director, with the opportunity to vote on all matters, except decisions related to membership dues. The Ex Officio Associate Director also serves as the Vice-Chair for the AIALA Emerging Professionals Committee.

Candidates must be current Associate Members-in-good-standing of the AIA Los Angeles Chapter, and may not be licensed in any State or U.S. Territory, but may be working towards licensure.

If you are interested in the opportunity to serve as Ex Officio Associate Director on the Board of Directors for a two-year term from 2022-23, please submit the following materials via email to Steve Tanner, Hon. AIALA no later than Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time:

Your name will be placed on the ballot along with all candidates who properly execute a self-nomination. In October, a link to the online ballot will be emailed to AIALA Members. Only Associate Members will have the chance to vote for the Associate Director position on the Board.

GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE ELECTION
Voting will open on September 29, 2021 and close on November 9, 2021 at 12:00 noon PT. Results will be announced to the membership on Thursday, November 11, 2021 and officers and directors will be formally installed in December at AIALA’s annual Holiday Party / New Board Installation.

As a Board member, you will be expected to:
* Read and comprehend the bylaws
* Observe all rules applicable to meetings of the Board
* Attend meetings of the Board and major AIA Los Angeles events
