ENCOMPASS: Inclusive Architecture

From the Block to the Beach, the 6th annual “Encompass: Inclusive Architecture” conference will focus on the expanded access to urban resources and sought land use justice within two distinct communities in Southern California: South Los Angeles and Manhattan Beach.

Though BIPOC home ownership is at its lowest rate in decades, exciting progress was made in 2021 to rectify racist land development, opening possibilities for bigger, bolder action. A deep dive into the mechanics of local reparations efforts and creative community acquisition methods will highlight opportunities for architects and designers to strengthen civil rights in the Southern California region during this historic time.
