The Sheats-Goldstein Residence is a landmark of modernist architecture. Famous for its distinctive design, and blending indoor and outdoor spaces, this beautiful home has been featured in numerous films and TV shows. The current owner, James Goldstein, has extensively renovated and enhanced the property, adding features like a James Turrell Skyspace and a nightclub called Club James. Goldstein has also pledged to donate the residence to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).

Roberta Leighton – General Manager, Sheats-Goldstein House
Roberta Leighton plays a crucial role as the general manager of the Sheats-Goldstein House in Los Angeles, a renowned architectural masterpiece designed by John Lautner. She effectively “runs the place” for the owner, Jim Goldstein, and manages numerous events like movie shoots, commercials, and photo shoots that take place at the iconic residence. Her in-depth knowledge of the house, both architecturally and socially, makes her a popular and engaging tour guide.
Beyond her role at the Sheats-Goldstein House, Roberta Leighton is also known for her acting career, with notable appearances in movies and television shows such as Stripes (where she played Bill Murray’s girlfriend), The Dukes of Hazzard, and The Young and The Restless.
She is further involved in efforts to promote and celebrate John Lautner’s architecture, including coordinating tours of the Sheats-Goldstein complex through the John Lautner Foundation.
Parking Information:
Park on the street along Angelo View Dr. or Davies. The tour group will convene in the cul-de-sac at the top of the driveway and the tour will proceed once everyone has arrived.
Parking in the neighborhood is extremely limited due to ongoing construction. Please consolidate into as few vehicles as possible or use a ride-share service and plan accordingly.
