This presentation is intended to provide participants with an overview of the building envelope and an understanding of the most common building envelope problems. In addition to an overview of problems, solutions will be addressed for a variety of categories, including maintenance, restoration, roofing, metal, plaza decks and air barriers.










Kim Cahners – Architectural Sales Manager – GARLAND

Kim is a proud Southern California resident, and architectural sales manager with over 15 years of experience in the building materials industry. Alexandra (Alex) Zywicki – Architectural Specialist (Greater Los Angeles) – GARLAND

Alex Zywicki is the Garland Architectural Specialist for the greater Los Angeles area. Her prior experience includes architectural sales in structural glazing, rainscreen systems, and other products in the building façade realm. She is passionate about assisting architects design high-performing building envelopes with superior products and is excited to work with this incredible community of southern California architects and designers. 1. Participants will understand the fundamental goals of a building as well as what a building envelope includes

3. Participants will be able to identify problems/failures in building envelope systems through photographs
