ARCH TOUR FEST: Solar Future House
The Solar Futures House is the first permitted 3D printed dwelling in Los Angeles. It is a high-performing, net zero, sustainably designed home built in 2023 to address housing affordability and climate change with a special focus on fire resilience. In that it is prescient. A recent winner in the climate category of the AIA LA Residential awards, the home incorporates passive and active strategies using a systems thinking lens. From water conservation to energy storage and gray water recycling, the project touts several first use case scenarios.
