The 2026 AIA|LA City Leaders Breakfast Series allows architects & designers, and other community stakeholders to meet directly with key individuals transforming Los Angeles in a roundtable setting to discuss innovative ideas to ensure a healthy, sustainable, and economically competitive future.

Nick Saponara – Executive Officer, Transit Oriented Communities, LA Metro 

Nick Saponara is the Executive Officer of Transit Oriented Communities at LA Metro, where he oversees a wide range of programs, projects, and policies to foster vibrant communities around Metro’s growing transit system. These initiatives include Metro’s commitment to develop 10,000 Homes on Metro property through joint development partnerships, as well as investments in land use, economic development, and active transportation. Mr. Saponara holds a Master’s degree in Urban Planning and a Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute.
