About this Video

On June 9, AIA|LA & SoCal NOMA held a Town Hall and listening session on racial injustice. Members were invited to speak their hearts and hear each other in the wake of the killing of George Floyd and its reminder of the lengthy history of racial injustice in this country.

In addition to being a forum for members to express themselves during these troubling times, the Town Hall was intended to formulate goals that will be the foundation for the 2020 AIA|LA conference on equity diversity and inclusiveness. How can our region become more equitable? How can design better serve ALL communities? What steps should the profession take to develop opportunities for all? How should the AIA|LA move forward? These actions will be taken up at the AIA|LA’s upcoming Encompass conference, which will provide tools to realize crucial, urgent, and overdue changes.
