Architects in Action: Advocacy & Impact at AIA|LA Legislative Day(s) at City Hall

A Personal Perspective from Anthony Bennett, AIA, NCARB – The Tony Bennett Project

The 2023 AIA|LA Legislative Day(s) was a huge success in my opinion. There is a collaborative need for City Officials, Developers, Architects, and those in between to connect and discuss ideas, goals, and initiatives. I feel these meetings humanize the bureaucracy, red tape and hurdles many of us have experienced when interacting with the City of Los Angeles. It gives us Architects a voice and stake in the developmental processes from state bills, city planning, land development, grants, and numerous programs provided by the City of Los Angeles. And on a personal level, it allows me to give back to the cities and community I grew up with.
