Small Talks : LA – Development. Displacement. Community: A workshop highlighting Inglewood and other evolving communities in LA

Hosted in collaboration with the Free School of Architecture, the 2nd installment of this pop-up series will be centered aroundthe recent development in Inglewood as a result of the new stadium planned for the region and the controversial course of gentrification that is challenging Los Angeles County at large. Through a workshop-based format, the goal of this pop-up is to educate ourselves on the effect that new development has on communities. Various locally-based organizers will be present to shed light on their knowledge & experiences. Please join us to engage with other like-minded Angeleno’s and share your perspective on the current evolution of our city.

small talks:LA originated as a response to the current demand for political/social organization among motivated individuals who care for the diversity and future of our cities. In contrast to a conventional lecture series, small talks:LA promotes the collective over the individual and allows for equal participation/engagement among all participants no matter your profession or background. Click here or scroll down to see the recap video of our first event in the Arts District.

Come and enjoy this post July 4th/Independence Day weekend with beverages and food as we discuss how to make our cities a better place. Everyone is highly encouraged to bring their own refreshments in this BBQ like setting. Onward.
