2020 City Leaders Breakfast Series Presented By: Psomas

We are delighted to announce that the AIA LA City Leaders Breakfast Series will resume as a virtual “bring-your-own-coffee & breakfast” event.  For 2020/ 2021, we’re aiming for 25+ receptions to showcase the numerous membership-based organizations that provide professional leadership in the A/E/C industry.

Our third in this series will feature the President of the Southern California Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

We are organizing these receptions as opportunities for the architecture & design community to hear from the leadership of numerous A/E/C organizations and the specific initiatives each organization is helping to advance.

Prospective topics and themes will include:

  • Ensuring & Maintaining Industry Relevance as an A/E/C organization
  • Economic Recovery & Environmental Resilience Initiatives (Climate Action & Infrastructure)
  • Preparing the LA-region for 2028 and Beyond (Olympics & Paralympics, etc.)
  • Workforce development and S.T.E.A.M pipeline; Access to Careers in A/E/C
  • Opportunities to advance Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the A/E/C industry
  • Procurement Best-Practices, Alternative Project Delivery & Innovative Funding Sources

Pamela Brief, ASLA, PLAPresident, ASLA Southern California & President, Pamela Studios

Pamela Brief is a landscape architect and President/Founder of Pamela Studios Inc. She currently focuses on projects in the Southern California area. Her prior experience included award-winning domestic and international projects with POD, Emmet Wemple & Associates, The Jerde Partnership, and Walt Disney Imagineering. Her designs engage, educate, and optimize the visitor experience while preserving and improving the health of the local environment and community. An accomplished designer, manager and collaborator, Pamela enjoys mentoring students and emerging professionals. Pamela has served as the President of ASLA SoCal for 2 years. She enjoys volunteering and advocating on behalf of her profession, and the public. Prior to becoming President of the Chapter, she served on the ASLA SoCal Executive Committee as the Chair of the Programs Committee. In addition to her membership with ASLA, Pamela is an active member of several local professional organizations, volunteers her time on pro bono initiatives, and serves on the guidance committee for a local landscape architectural program. Pamela recently received appointment to the Landscape Architects Technical Committee (LATC) by Governor Newsom and will serve a 4-year term.
