More than 300 tours will provide opportunities for designers to see and experience buildings they have only read about, earn continuing education units, and explore the city up-close. Tours are organized into 16 tracks so that architects, designers, and built environment professionals, may rapidly identify their specific interest, i.e. Residential, Healthcare or Affordable Housing, or may, just as easily, connect with a single award-winning project they have always wanted to visit.

LA 20/2020 Features Technologies Never Seen at an AIA Conference on Architecture and More
Highlighting LA 20/20 (AIA|LA’s suite of A’20 programming) is the integration of technologies never before seen at an AIA Conference on Architecture. These include a digital playground showcasing smart buildings in a smart city that will light up the center of the expo floor, and form a must-explore meeting point between sessions. While, across the metropolis, select tours will offer AR that makes below-surface systems visible to architects.
But that’s not all.
LA 20/20 activities for A’20 span over 300 tours, 50 special events, exhibits, and activities.
The tours line-up delivers access to award-winning and innovative architecture that has been published nationally and changed the history of our field: design that provides meaningful contributions to Los Angeles’ cultural, social, and civic fabric.
Networking aspects of A’20 will be enhanced by LA 20/20 special programs that create stunning backdrops and congenial atmospheres for architects to reconnect with colleagues from across the country, make new contacts, or see old friends from university. From a rooftop pub crawl, to a picnic at Eames House, to an elegant dinner at Schindler House, and an LA River bike excursion—these events are as special for LA architects as they are for out of town guests. (It’s okay, you’ll sleep once A’20 has left town.)
