The Road to More Housing
Three Angelenos That Architects Need to Meet

Increasing density is essential to reducing Los Angeles’ carbon foot print; so goes the underlying premise of the Urban Design Committee’s upcoming meeting.

Three women, who directly impact the city in respect to this issue will share the results of their actions, then participate in an engaging conversation with attendees about how their work effects the larger issue and their needs and/or advocacy connects with our profession.

One is doubling the amount of housing her non-profit builds and oversees. Another heads a grassroots group that organizes effective new voices for density: young professionals, workers, and other Angelenos priced out of the housing market; the third is the founder of a new model in high-density housing, which provides temporary accommodations for those between homes and serves to illustrate a new normal.

The event takes place at PodShare Venice, the site of the new normal in Los Angeles housing.
