Distinguished Architects Lecture Series: AMANDA LEVETE

Amanda Levete CBE is founder and principal of AL_A, an international award-winning design and architecture studio. Recent projects include the Victoria & Albert Museum Exhibition Road Quarter in London (2017); Central Embassy, a 1.5 million sq ft luxury shopping mall and hotel in Bangkok (2017); MAAT, a Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology in Lisbon (2016); and a media campus and headquarters building for Sky in London (2016).

Ongoing commissions include the transformation of the flagship Galleries Lafayette department store on Boulevard Haussmann in Paris; a new center for the cancer care charity Maggie’s in Southampton; two new buildings for Wadham College at the University of Oxford; the renovation and expansion of the Paisley Museum in Scotland; and the Monte St Angelo subway station in Naples. Amanda is a regular radio and TV broadcaster, writes for numerous publications, and lectures throughout the world.

Amanda Levete is a RIBA Stirling Prize winning architect. In 2017, Levete was recognized in the Queen’s birthday honors list and made a CBE for services to architecture. In 2018, she received the Jane Drew Prize, awarded by The Architect’s Journal and The Architectural Review.
