Continuity of Operations w/ LADBS

During the COVID-19 crisis, LADBS will continue its development services with plan check, permitting, and inspection. In response to Mayor Garcetti’s COVID-19 guidelines, LADBS will share this virtual presentation with AIA Los Angeles to provide guidance on the changes in protocol and services.

As updated on their April 3rd announcement, LADBS will share details about the following online methods:

• Request an Inspection Online request
• Check the status of a permit or an inspection
Report a code violation
• How to use the LADBS GO Mobile App

These services will also include ePlan check and various additional online resources.

BIOS:

Charmie HuynhAssistant Deputy, Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety

Charmie Huynh is an Assistant Deputy with the City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety with over 20 years of experience in government administration and application and enforcement of building safety codes, zoning and local ordinances. She oversees the government and community relations division, commission office, development services case management, code development, LAX plan check and ePlanLA divisions.

Ms. Huynh graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with an M.S. in Structural Engineering and a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering. She is a licensed civil engineer with the state of California.

Minye PakSenior Structural Engineer, Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety

Minye Pak is a Senior Structural Engineer at the City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety, advocating public safety and advancing the construction industry through plan check, permitting, and code development. She performed plan check services on several unique projects, including the (W)rapper building, a high rise office tower that utilizes a non-conventional LFRS of curved steel, and the Lucas Museum of Narrative Arts, an iconic structure built on 280 base isolators. She is currently overseeing the Department’s task of reviewing and permitting the LAX modernization project as well as overseeing the development of the eplan check program.

Ms. Pak graduated from Columbia University in the City of New York with an M.S in Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics, the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.S in Civil and Environmental Engineering, and is a licensed Structural Engineer with the California Board for Professional Engineers.
