Call to Makers – Furniture Design Workshop Exhibition & Opening Celebration

Call to Makers showcases original furniture created through reuse, upcycling, and inventive craftsmanship by the inaugural cohort of CO Architects’ Furniture Design Workshop. Over the course of nine months, individuals and teams designed and fabricated one-of-a-kind pieces using reclaimed, salvaged, and repurposed materials. Ranging in scale from footstools to dining tables, the work explores the creative potential of material intelligence, low-cost fabrication, and hands-on making. The exhibition celebrates creativity, craftsmanship, collaboration, and CO Architects’ culture of making.

The opening celebration features a panel discussion with workshop participants and invited guests, offering insights into the design process, fabrication challenges, and the role of making in architectural practice. Architects, designers, and the broader community are invited to experience the exhibition and discover the stories behind the work.

On View – July 20–August 10, 2026, Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Panelist 4: Reza Feiz, Founder/Creative Director, Phase Design

Autodidact award-winning designer Reza Feiz has always been drawn to the strength in simplicity. Lured to Southern California by its inventive, creative spirit, he discovered his true calling among the community of creators and artisans who transform imagination into reality. Inspired by Los Angeles’ iconic landscape and the beauty of the places and spaces he encountered, he envisioned furniture, lighting, and tabletop accessories, fabricating them from contemporary materials with the help of skilled craftspeople.

The resulting restrained yet revolutionary pieces have earned international recognition. He has been lauded as “An American designer who influences world design” and “One of a group of select young designers who represent the leading edge of discovery in design.” Architectural Digest noted that his “wide-ranging collections make a strong case for the enduring appeal of restrained modern design,” while Surface Magazine praised his work for its 21st-century edge and timeless relevance.
