A3K Consulting and AIA Los Angeles present a two-day marketing and business development program for small and emerging practices.

The program is designed as a 14-hour intensive academy where attendees learn A-Z of business planning, business development, and marketing. Through a combination of lecture and exercises participants will be able to develop a preliminary business development plan that supports their firm’s business objectives, develop value propositions, and understand the elements of winning proposals. In addition, the course will also prepare attendees to understand the applications of metrics in business management and in developing a sales culture.

Strategic and business planning provides the framework by which a firm operates. A well-formed plan underscores a firm’s mission, vision & values, and provides guiding principles for decision-making. Planning can address the whole of the business or help prepare the pathway for specific business changes, such as leadership transition, mergers and acquisitions, market entry strategies, and regional expansion.

Karen Compton, CPSM – Principal

Bob Kain, AIA, ACHA – Senior Account Executive & Business Strategist

Bob Kain was meant to work in design and construction. From the time he was a young boy constructing elaborate creations with Lincoln Logs through the years he excelled in school in both math and the arts, Bob possessed the balance of logic and creativity needed to thrive as an architect.

With dedication and integrity, Bob blazed a successful career path, maximizing every opportunity that came his way and earning a top leadership position at a major architecture firm at a relatively young age. So, when retirement age arrived, Bob knew he wasn’t done building his legacy. Today, he continues to be a mentor and educator. Whether he’s brainstorming a market strategy with his clients or leading a lecture at the local university, Bob’s passion is always evident.

Brandy Little, CPSM, CPCC – Senior Account Executive & Performance Advisor

Brandy Little understands people. She observes, listens, and finds the potential in individuals and groups. Resourceful and resilient, she has a talent for spotting opportunity and generating ideas.

As a professionally-trained coach, she creatively helps her clients cultivate their strengths to develop practices and strategies for success. She believes that skillful communication is a differentiator, so she helps her clients add value with effective language. Brandy also leads workshops and seminars, and maintains a national network as an active volunteer.
