CONTEXT – Battling the Climate Crisis

CONTEXT, a curated lecture series by Gensler + Frances Anderton from KCRW, seeks to uncover the role that context plays in the conception of creative work. The inaugural series interprets “context” in its most literal form, exploring the city of Los Angeles as a driver of creative thought.

In the spirit of California Air Day, we build on the idea that shared experiences unite people to improve our community health. To understand how Los Angeles battles climate change, we explore the larger context of global warming and the direct impact it has on air quality. Our panel will discuss what is being done in LA to battle climate change via air quality enhancements at the local level, which will in turn have potential global implications.

David Pettit – Senior Attorney for the Climate & Clean Energy Program

Rachel Malarich – City Forest Officer for the City of Los Angeles

Wolfgang Busch – Associate Professor of Plant Molecular & Cellular Biology
