We are delighted to announce that the AIA LA City Leaders Breakfast Series will resume as a virtual “bring-your-own-coffee & breakfast” event.  For 2020/ 2021, we’re aiming for 25+ receptions to showcase the numerous membership-based organizations that provide professional leadership in the A/E/C industry.

Our second in this series will feature the President of the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California.

Matthew Barnard, SE – President, Structural Engineers Association of Southern California & Principal, Degenkolb Engineers

Matt Barnard, S.E. is a Principal in the Los Angeles office of Degenkolb Engineers and is the 2020/2021 President of the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEAOSC). SEAOSC is a 1000+ member organization committed to serving its members and promoting Safer Cities through structural and seismic engineering. Complementing the technical advancement of structural and seismic engineering in the Southern California area, SEAOSC is the home of the structural engineering community in Southern California and provides community engagement, professional development, and policy advocacy. In this spirit, Matt was part of the Building Forward LA steering committee along with AIA and other partners committed to improving our communities through the built environment. SEAOSC is part of the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC) and the National Council of Structural Engineering Associations (NCSEA). Matt also serves on the Board of SEAOC.
