The AIA|LA 20×8’s 2012:TAUT marked the 10th year 2×8 has honored excellence in student architectural work. With encouragement and motivation from AIA|LA, the 2×8 scholarship provides students with the confidence to realize that their ideas do matter. Winning an award for AIA|LA is indicative for what will come for these future architects.

White sangria, ambient music, eager young talent and established design veterans convened at the A+D Museum as AIA Los Angeles (AIA|LA) announced the winners of the 2012 2×8:Taut student competition. 2×8:Taut showcased outstanding work from students from very diverse design backgrounds, “What is most impressive is to see the level of work from all these different schools.” said 2×8 juror David Montalba, AIA – “You expect high caliber work from the more highly regarded schools, and you see that, but it’s also great to see some of the smaller schools, like the Community Colleges, submit high level work.”
