Friedman has lived in California for more than three decades. Currently\, she lives in Glendale with her husband and daughter. Friedman proudly represents California’s 30th District\, which includes Burbank\, Glendale\, West Hollywood\, and parts of Los Angeles and Pasadena. \nFriedman is committed to making meaningful progress on the issues that matter most to her district: making housing more affordable\, safeguarding access to clean water\, protecting communities from wildfires and other disasters\, and creating an economy that works for everyone. \nFriedman serves on two key committees: the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the House Committee on Science\, Space\, and Technology. \nBefore joining Congress\, Friedman represented the 44th district in the California State Assembly\, where she built a reputation as a tireless advocate for the environment\, housing\, and transportation. During her time in the Assembly\, she secured more than $60 million in funding for local projects like the Glendale Riverwalk\, Griffith Park safety improvements\, and upgrades to the Glendale Central Library. She also led the charge on landmark legislation to improve road safety\, invest in zero-emission vehicles\, and promote water conservation. \nLaura got her start in the private sector working as a film and television producer after receiving her B.A. from the University of Rochester\, New York. In his new role\, Sata will lead the district’s $14.9 billion capital improvement program for the nine-campus district to create inspiring academic spaces. \nSata brings a wealth of knowledge in campus planning and construction from his most recent role as vice president of operations and capital projects at California College of the Arts in San Francisco. In 1981\, at the age of 8\, political upheaval and war with neighboring Iraq forced Adrin and his family to flee Iran and immigrate to the United States. For years\, Adrin’s family remained separated across the globe until finally reuniting and settling in the San Fernando Valley. \nGrowing up\, Adrin excelled academically and worked part-time in local Valley banks to support his education. He attended Pierce College\, California State University\, Northridge (CSUN)\, and in 1996 earned a degree in Economics from the University of California\, Los Angeles (UCLA). \nEntering Public Service \nDuring his time in school\, Adrin became actively involved in civic engagements. He interned in the office of former Congressman Howard Berman and volunteered for various non-profit organizations focused on youth and civic engagement. \nAs a founding board member of Generation Next\, he dedicated his efforts to mentoring and supporting young individuals facing poverty and other challenges. \nAdrin was accepted into the prestigious CORO Fellowship Program\, gaining experience in the offices of elected officials such as Congressman Brad Sherman\, Governor Gray Davis\, and Los Angeles City Councilmember Tom Labonge. He eventually became Chief of Staff to the then Assistant Majority Leader of the California State Assembly\, Paul Krekorian. \nService in the California State Assembly \nDespite being heavily outspent\, Adrin Nazarian won an underdog campaign and was elected to the California State Assembly in November 2012. \nFor over a decade\, until 2022\, he proudly represented California’s 46th Assembly District\, spearheading key legislative initiatives and securing significant state investments in his district. Including the Hollywood Hills\, Lake Balboa\, North Hills\, North Hollywood\, Panorama City\, Sherman Oaks\, Studio City\, Toluca Lake\, Valley Glen\, Universal City\, Van Nuys\, and Valley Village. She leads the organization of nearly 12\,000 employees\, delivering water and power to the four million residents of Los Angeles. \nMs. Quiñones has over 25 years of leadership experience as a senior executive in the utility and engineering industries and joined LADWP from Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E)\, where she first served as Senior Vice President of Gas Engineering and then as Senior Vice President of Electric Operations. In the latter\, she oversaw electrical system operations and the power generation fleet\, as well as the management of electrical assets that support the California Independent System Operator. \nPrior to PG&E\, Ms. Quiñones served as the Vice President of Gas Systems Engineering for National Grid\, where she managed the engineering and design of natural gas distribution\, transmission\, and infrastructure projects for National Grid’s U.S. territory and oversaw various meter compliance\, design\, and construction projects. \nMs. Quiñones’ experience also includes serving in the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG)\, both full-time and in the reserves\, from 2004-2025. She is a retired USCG Commander and previously served as Deputy\, Planning and Incident Management. She also held several leadership roles at San Diego Gas & Electric\, including Director of Design\, Planning\, Construction\, and Vegetation Management. \nMs. Quiñones was born and raised in Caguas\, Puerto Rico\, and attended the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez Campus\, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Magna Cum Laude). She holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Advanced Studies in International Relations and is a licensed Professional Engineer in five states.
