We look forward to a stimulating discussion! \n  \nHOSTS \n \nCasey Castor\, Associate AIA\, LEED AP BD+C\nPrincipal of Practice Labs & 2026 AIA|LA Chair of the Committee on the Environment (COTE) \nCasey Castor is a Principal of Practice Labs\, where he has spent nearly a decade advancing sustainable design in projects across the greater Los Angeles area. With expertise spanning K-12 schools\, civic projects\, and affordable housing\, he integrates building science analysis into every phase of project development. His academic foundation includes an undergraduate in architectural design and a master’s in building science from USC\, which has shaped his metrics-driven approach to sustainable design. Casey has also co-founded Mack Research\, where their team is developing an innovative vertical wall wind technology for energy generation that is currently in R+D. He also collaborates locally as the 2026 Chair of AIA|LA’s Committee on the Environment (COTE)\, he works to advance sustainable design practices\, advocating for policies and strategies that harmonize built and natural systems. Casey received the Rising Star Planet Positive Award from Metropolis magazine in 2025 showing national recognition for his work in sustainability especially for underserved communities. Through his leadership\, Casey is committed to pushing the industry toward innovative\, climate-responsive solutions that support long-term environmental resilience. \n \nCameron Chorney – Associate Principal & Senior Engineer with RDH Building Science \nCameron Chorney is an Associate Principal and Senior Engineer with RDH Building Science\, specializing in high-performance building enclosure design\, including net-zero\, wildfire-resistant\, low-carbon\, and climate-resilient solutions. Cameron is an active volunteer with AIA\, USGBC\, CSI\, and the ACE Mentor Program\, advocating for positive change in the ACE industry. \n \n\nHiba Charek-Brewster\, LFA – Senior Designer & Associate at AC Martin \nHiba Charek-Brewster\, Assoc. AIA\, LFA is a senior designer at AC Martin\, where she brings a thoughtful\, sustainability-driven approach to architecture and urban design. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture and a minor in Regenerative Studies from Cal Poly Pomona and her Master’s in Sustainable Architecture from the University of Oklahoma. \n\nOver the course of her career\, Hiba has contributed to a wide range of impactful projects\, from local landmarks like Long Beach Exchange to award-winning international work in China and Russia\, where she specialized in high-end retail environments. Her recent focus has shifted toward public realm improvements and affordable housing\, where she continues to champion innovation\, community-centered design\, and waste reduction. \nHiba is passionate about creating spaces that inspire and endure. She believes that good design should not only elevate the human experience but also tread lightly on the planet.
