Please respond by March 3, 2016
AIA’s Fellowship program was developed to elevate those architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and society and achieved a standard of excellence in the profession. Election to Fellowship not only recognizes the achievements of the architect as an individual, but also honors before the public and the profession a model architect who has made a significant contribution to architecture & society on a national level.
Architect members submitting for Fellowship, the highest honor that AIA accords, need to be nominated either by their local Chapter, or by any five Fellows or ten Architect members.
AIA Los Angeles is fortunate to have a Fellows Nominating & Mentoring Committee, tasked with identifying, nominating and assisting eligible candidates with their submission. To that end, we will be looking at preliminary portfolios from interested & eligible Architect members starting in March. Chapter nominations will be made in April and there will be three review sessions/mentoring meetings for nominees prior to the final submission deadline of Oct. 14.
If you are:
A) An Architect member of AIA Los Angeles in good standing (that is, current with both your 2016 membership renewal and your 2015 AIA CES requirement), and
B) you have been an Architect member for ten years or longer (total; does not have to be consecutive), and would like to pursue Fellowship, please email Steve Tanner at this link by March 3, 2016 and let him know of your interest.
You do not have to provide any supporting information at this time. The Committee will reply in early March with a request & instructions for a preliminary portfolio including a 35-word summary statement and one- or two-page CV.
Before making your decision, please be sure to review all rules, guidelines and deadlines and take a look at the Best Examples and FAIA Submission Walk-Through at the official Fellowship page at aia.org.
