UPDATED: Please respond by April 2
The title of Fellow (FAIA) honors individuals with at least ten (10) years of total AIA architect membership, who have made a significant contribution to architecture and society, achieved excellence in the profession, and made a significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level.
The AIA/LA Fellows Nominating & Mentoring Committee identifies, invites, and nominates qualified members for elevation to Fellowship. The committee also mentors nominees in writing and preparing their submittal portfolios.
If you are an architect member in good standing, have the required ten years of membership, have completed your 2013 CES requirement, and would like to be considered for nomination, please send a brief email indicating your interest, with Call for Fellows in the subject line, by April 2, 2014, to firstname.lastname@example.org. The Committee will contact you about what additional materials are required.
For more information about Fellowship, examples of successful submissions, and details on the submission process, please visit the Fellowship web site at AIA National.
Candidates for Fellowship may be nominated either by the local Chapter, or by obtaining the signatures of ten architect members or five Fellows in good standing. Regardless of the nomination method, all nominees must solicit an eligible sponsor and the appropriate number of reference letters. Both the candidate and the sponsor must be up to date in their AIA CES requirements for 2013 in order to submit in 2014. Nominees must submit their materials for the 2014 College of Fellows online before 5pm Eastern Time on October 17, 2014. There is a non-refundable entry fee of $350.00.
