AIA Los Angeles Announces Series of Mayoral Candidate Forums

Sponsored by MATT CONSTRUCTION

What do the Los Angeles Mayoral elections mean for the design community? Will the perspective Mayoral Candidates invest in a comprehensive revision of the city's zoning code? Do you know their views on the Los Angeles River Revitalization Master Plan? How do the candidates plan on filling the void left by the closure of the Community Redevelopment Agency? Get answers to these questions and more at the AIA|LA Mayoral Candidate Forums!

The forum is meant as an opportunity for each candidate to declare their vision for the future of Los Angeles and describe a path for how we get there. While Environmental and economic sustainability, resource conversation, enhanced mobility and access, community health, social justice and planning for complete communities are all integral tenets of architecture, the Mayoral Candidate forum is a chance to dig deeper into the philosophy of the candidates.

Moderated by Los Angeles City Planning Commission President, Bill Roschen, FAIA and Los Angeles Times Architecture Critic, Christopher Hawthorne, the forums will serve as an opportunity for a diverse constituency to learn more about each candidate's vision for the future of our city and the actions they will take to ensure we get there.

If you care about your city and want to contribute to the dialogue that will move our city forward with an emphasis on the importance of design excellence, then come spend your Friday nights in February and March with AIA|LA and get to know the mayoral candidates!

Thanks to the generous contribution of MATT CONSTRUCTION , this event is free and open to the public with advance registration.
