AIA|LA Introduces New Architect Registration Exam (ARE) Scholarship to Assist Members Along their Path to Licensure

The American Institute of Architects Los Angeles (AIA|LA) cares about the professional development of its members and wishes to continually support the next generation of architects. In response to the economic downturn that derailed many members' pursuit of licensure, AIA|LA is proud to introduce the 2011 ARE Seminar Scholarship, a new scholarship program that covers the cost to attend the ARE Prep Classes offered at the Chapter.

"AIA Los Angeles fully encourages our members to pursue licensure." Matt Krinsky, AIA|LA's Director of Programs and Events said, "As such, we have created the 2011 ARE Seminar Scholarship for those members who have this desire and could benefit from the assistance."

Applying to be considered for a 2011 ARE Seminar Scholarship is open to currently unemployed or under-employed AIA|LA members who are in the active process of pursuing licensure in the State of California.

"Though the economy is certainly improving," continued Krinsky, "we have many members of AIA Los Angeles who are still professionally recovering from the recession that severely affected the architecture and design community. Our hope is that this scholarship program will help those individuals get back on track. "
