Los Angeles, CA - April 29th, 2011 - The American Institute of Los Angeles would like to congratulate the Southern California School of Architecture (SCI-Arc) for the recent purchase of the building that has housed the school for the past ten years.
According to a Los Angeles Times article, L.A. architecture school SCI-Arc buys its unorthodox home, "SCI-Arc, one of the top rated schools in the country for design, bought itself a home in downtown Los Angeles. SCI-Arc, paid 23.1 million for a highly unorthodox building."
The highly "unorthodox building" is a great feat for SCI-Arc and AIA|LA is sure that they will continue to be churning out some of the best design minds in the city, state and country.
In the LA Times article, SCI-Arc Director Eric Own Moss, that being in such a vibrant era of downtown is ideal. "LA is on the world map, but the physical makeup of the city has a huge distance to go," Moss said, "LA's physical future and the planning future is ahead of it." AIA|LA is sure that with SCI-Arc permanently in Downtown, their presence will enrich the neighborhood's growth.
