YOUNG PROFESSIONALS IN ENERGY - FIRST NETWORKING EVENT OF THE FALL
The Los Angeles Chapter of Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) will hold its first networking meeting of the fall on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the UCLA School of Public Affairs in the 3rd floor lounge. The event is sponsored by the UCLA Luskin Center for Innovation.
SEPTEMBER 28 IS A FREE ADMISSION EVENT
Hosted cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served at the networking event, which will be highlighted by a speech from J.R. DeShazo, whose recent solar policy report, "Designing an Effective Feed-in Tariff for Greater Los Angeles," received notable media coverage from the Los Angeles Times, KCRW and other major outlets. DeShazo is an Associate Professor in the School for Public Policy and Social Research at UCLA.
In addition to YPE members, C-level executives from across the city and industry are invited for an evening of networking. Professionals from Southern California Edison, LADWP, Honda and more regularly attend our Los Angeles events.
Who is a young professional? There's no age limit or prejudice. All are welcome to enjoy this unique networking opportunity.
BACKGROUND:
Young Professionals in Energy ("YPE") is the first and only interdisciplinary networking and volunteer organization for people in the global energy industry - a place where bankers can connect with engineers, accountants with geologists and so on. Our mission is to provide a forum for knowledge sharing and camaraderie among future leaders of the energy industry.
The first YPE Chapters were launched in Houston and New York in 2005 by Stephen Cravens and Michael Teplitsky as a way to bring professionals in the industry together to network and exchange ideas in a comfortable setting. YPE has since grown to over 10,000 members in energy cities across the global.
The organization is hosting its first YPE International Summit this April 8-10, 2011 in Las Vegas. Details are at www.ypenergysummit.org
