About the Event:
In November of 2008, California voters approved Prop. 1A, which issued nearly $10 billion in bonds to establish a "clean, efficient, high-speed train service linking Southern California, the Sacramento San Joaquin Valley, and the San Francisco Bay Area." This high-speed rail network will connect 26 stations up and down the state with over 800 miles of track; traveling at over two hundred miles per hour, it will see an annual ridership of up to 117 million passengers by 2030.
These new stations will be a boon for both residential and commercial development across California. In an effort to responsibly guide this development, California's ULI District Councils have organized a landmark event for ULI members throughout the state: ULI's California High-Speed Rail TOD MarketPlace will provide attendees the opportunity to discuss and guide the future development of communities along the rail corridor, propelling California into a new era of responsible development and land use.
