Emil Zordilla, AIA, LEED AP

Port of Los Angeles
Emil Zordilla is an architect for the Port of Los Angeles. He is a leader in implementing sustainable design practices at the Port. He played a key role in the creation of the Port's Green Building Policy and the Engineering/Construction Sustainable Design Guidelines. Under those policies, all newly constructed buildings will strive to meet LEED Gold Certification standards, existing buildings will be evaluated for retrofits, and renewable energy will be integrated as much as possible. He currently oversees the design of Port infrastructure related to terminal facilities and community amenities. Emil also led the implementation of the Port's Tree Planting Program under Mayor Villaraigosa's One Million Tree initiative.
Emil earned his Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the University of Southern California. He is a registered architect in the State of California, a member of the American Institute of Architects, a member of the Los Angeles Chapter of the US Green Building Council, and a LEED 2.0 Accredited Professional. He serves as the Port's representative to the Mayor of Los Angeles' Sustainable Practices Cabinet, the Los Angeles Sustainable Design Implementation Program Task Force, and is a liaison to the Los Angeles Deputy Mayor of Energy and Environment.
