The AFLA SALON FOR NEW VOICES is a forum for individuals & organizations whose unique visions deserve wider public consideration. This year we focus on the ideas of sustainability and social justice and its interplay in the fields of art & design.
Dr. Paul Cummins is an innovator in the field of education. Currently the executive director of the New Visions Foundation, his progressive strategies focus on changing the face of American public education. Cummins recognizes the need to re-think the total environment that comprise education for children. Along with forward-thinking ideas regarding access to education, Cummins brought architecture into the mix. The many schools he has founded are designed with the express desire to foster creativity and experimentation in students. The many campuses he has helped to create are holistic environments where learning does not end outside of the four walls.
