Technology in Architecture Committee Meeting Jan. 7

COMMITTEE ON ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGY First Meeting of 2010: Thursday, January 7, 2010 from 6:00 to 7:30pm At AIA/LA Chapter Office (large conference room)

The Los Angeles Chapter of the American Institute of Architects is pleased to announce the first meeting in 2010 of the new COMMITTEE ON ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGY. The AIA/LA seeks to build on the successes of the former Computer Committee and CADD User Group while creating an innovative committee with a broader scope and more encompassing vision.

This is a targeted email to those attendees of the formative meeting in December 2009. Attached is a .doc draft of the meeting minutes for your review and comment.

Please provide any feedback to Douglas Noble [dnoble@usc.edu] prior to the meeting.

As determined at the last meeting, the goals for this first meeting of 2010 include:

• All attendees are asked to invite at least 2 colleagues or interested parties (they don't have to be AIA members or affiliates - yet) to this meeting to achieve more input on direction for the coming year and to continue work on the unfinished agenda items from 2009 (formation of working groups, committees, and election of officers).

• All attendees are requested to think of several topics that they would like to see addressed in 2010 and submit them to Reg Prentice [reg_prentice@gensler.com] prior to the meeting.

SAVE THE DATE Meetings will be held regularly on the first Thursday of the month. The next meeting will be Feb 4, 2010.

PS The Wiltern Building shares a 4-level parking structure with Ralphs and Hollywood Video, located just south of the theatre, that is easily accessed from Oxford St. (southbound between Wilshire & 7th.) Max. usually $8-12.

Solair Wilshire parking is open until 7pm and usually costs $5, entrance from Oxford St. (between 6th and Wilshire.)

There may also be metered street parking on Ingraham, Oxford, 6th, or 7th. Please be careful and watch the signs to avoid tickets.

When there are special events at the adjacent Wiltern Theatre, parking may be limited and/or more expensive, and traffic denser than usual.
