Stepping Thru Accessibility was created to assist Business Owners, Architects, Building Officials, Civil Engineers, Property Managers, and Attorneys to Navigate Today's Accessibility Concerns and Issues.

SEMINAR DESCRIPTION

A review of the parameters of Accessibility for parking & passenger drop-offs in new construction in & outside of California. We will look in depth at issues related to parking, access aisles, van parking, and related signage. A combination of architectural details, photos, and codes will be reviewed so you will gain a more comprehensive understanding of this specific topic. Architects will receive 3.5 hours of Accessibility training towards their state re-licensure requirement.

Janis Kent is a Certified Access Specialist (CASp) & a licensed Architect in the State of California. She has been the accessibility specialist for a nationally recognized architectural firm and has been involved in the world of Accessibility since the 1980's. In addition, she is the Founding President of the Certified Access Specialist Institute (CASI).

GUEST PRESENTER

A representative from Aero Mobility will exhibit retrofitted vehicles and will discuss issues relating to accessible vehicles as well as trends that can impact parking design issues. Aero Mobility specializes in a complete line of vehicular mobility products.
