Join CASI and Sharon Toji from Access Communications
for a 3-hour continuing education seminar on access signage.
Sharon Toji is the founder of Access Communications, a consulting company with a specialty in accessible wayfinding and signage design. Sharon is the author of numerous trade articles on accessible signage and the manual "Signs and the ADA". She is a member of the ANSI Signage Task Force, and one of the principal authors of the signage section in the ANSI A117.1-1998 standard, which is the basis for the work of the ADAAG Advisory Review Committee. Sharon also represented the International Sign Association on the ADAAG Advisory Review Subcommittee on Communication, and worked on the scoping of the ADA/ABA Guidelines regarding access signage. Sharon is presently a member of the Access Advisory Committee of the California State Building Standards Commission.

- An understanding of the "universal" accessible signage rules
- An understanding of the key elements in an accessible signage and wayfinding system
- How to detect common errors in signage design and fabrication that affect accessibility.
