When you join between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2012, your dues of $563.00 cover membership at the national, state and local levels, through December 31, 2012.*
Educators and government employees pay just $454.00.

Legislative Agenda
AIA and its members call on all levels of government to pursue policies that will stimulate work for architects. When Congress recently proposed a tax increase on individuals and small businesses that form S Corporations, thousands of AIA members, speaking in a collective voice, succeeded in tabling the proposal in the Senate.

**Membership expires in Dec. 2012 and is renewable in Jan. 2013. Full first year 2012 Architect dues (Jan.-Dec.) dues are $563.00. Dues are currently $662.00 for second year renewing members and $726.00 in the third year & thereafter. Supplemental dues of $115.00 per each licensed architect employee apply to firm principals, owners or managers in the second year & thereafter and go to support Chapter programs, activities and staff. Members are automatically assigned to the local Chapter where they live or work, based on their ZIP code. *
**Architect members who work for the government, or for a college or university, are eligible to receive ½ off the local (AIA|LA) portion of your dues. Please request an architect/educator/government application for the correct local dues. National and State dues remain unchanged.
Continuing education activity of 18 hours/year, of which 12 must be Health Safety and Welfare related, is required for Architect members, starting with the first full calendar year of membership. Of the 12 HSW hours, 4 must be related to sustainability. HSW credits must be from an AIA approved provider (i.e., cannot be self-reported.)
*California licensed architects: 5 hours of ADA related coursework are required every two years for your license renewal. Please visit the Board's Web site regularly for updates, or you may contact the Board at (916) 574-7220. AIA does not report any licensee coursework to the CA Architects Board. AIA|LA accessibility courses can also count towards your HSW requirement for membership. *
