Perhaps you saw the famous chair of Le Corbusier at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), but there is many things you might not know about Corbu!

Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris, better known as Le Corbusier, was a Swiss-French architect, designer, painter, urban planner, writer, philosopher, and one of the pioneers of what is now called modern architecture. Born in Switzerland, his career spanned five decades, with his buildings constructed throughout Europe, America and India.

India, this is where this play takes place ! Le Corbusier, played by the author Jean Winiger, is at this time working on his last big project in Chandigarh, when a young architect comes to him. With this inspiring meeting, starts a talk about the life of this philosopher, artist and lecturer who left his print in modern architecture!

The cast of A Radiant night includes Jean Winiger as Le Corbusier, a Los Angeles dancer, Isaac Huerta, who is a representation of The modulor and Corbu, and a young architect played by Phillipe Thonner. Jean Winiger used all the texts, sketches and materials left behind by Le Corbusier to create this one of a kind play!

“A hundred times have I thought New York is a catastrophe, and fifty times : It is a beautiful catastrophe.” Le Corbusier

In French with English projected subtitles.
