Sustainability @CityHall

Join us at City Hall on the 3rd Tuesday of the month on the 10th Floor. This event series brings together leaders from the AIA|LA, the Los Angeles Business Council, the Urban Land Institute, and USGBC-LA to discuss sustainably built projects. The goal is to have meaningful discussion on what barriers exist to completing projects and make suggestions on streamlining sustainability for all.

Special thanks to Mayor Garcetti's Office of Sustainability for inspiring and facilitating this series.

April Presenter:

Join us for this talk with Ted Hyman, FAIA from ZGF Architects. Topics include: EcoDistricts & Zero Net Energy Projects.

Ted Hyman is Managing Partner of ZGF, and has served as Managing Partner of the firm’s Los Angeles and New York offices. For over two decades, he has led teams for many of the firm’s most challenging and technologically complex projects, taking responsibility for the programming, management, coordination, production, and construction administration. Ted has been responsible for guiding the design and implementation of a broad range of research facilities, hospitals, courthouses, and other civic buildings nationally. As a LEED Accredited Professional, he has a particular passion for developing strategies for the integration of sustainable systems, materials, and technology, including the design of one of the greenest buildings in the United States, the J. Craig Venter Institute in La Jolla, California, which will have a LEED-Platinum rating and net-zero energy footprint. He has played a key role in guiding the development of the firm, while also successfully directing and mentoring project teams for a number of clients, such as University of Southern California, the University of California, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, the J.
