Are you available on Wednesday, January 24 (6:00pm - 8:00pm) to participate in a roundtable at JOHN FRIEDMAN ALICE KIMM ARCHITECTS to discuss best-practices in managing a mid-size architecture firm in the Los Angeles region?

As an effort to deliver greater value to all AIA members, we are convening a roundtable of firm principals to share their ideas about how AIA Los Angeles can more effectively support small and mid-size architecture firms in the region.

Initiated by John Friedman, FAIA this roundtable will serve as an open forum to highlight the opportunities and challenges inherent in growing and sustaining a successful professional practice in architecture & design.  We are inviting talented younger designers and successful mid-career type firms to engage in a dialogue where we can learn from each other, as well as, highlight specific opportunities for how the AIA can better serve the profession.

Please RSVP to Will Wright at will@aialosangeles.org = LIMITED CAPACITY to 25 participants.

Some sample questions suggested by John Friedman, FAIA:
  • Do you want to work on bigger projects than you currently do?
  • Do you have a business plan for how to go after bigger projects?
  • Have you tried to go after larger projects but feel that you have been shut out by a tendency for those projects to automatically go to larger firms?
  • Have you ever contacted a larger firm to discuss a possible joint venture where you would bring your design skills and they would bring their technical expertise?
  • What other things have you tried to get larger projects?

If you’re interested in joining this roundtable, please reach out to Will Wright with more details.
