HOW CAN DESIGN ADDRESS HOMELESSNESS

Now that Open Architecture Collaborative LA has launched and we are in the midst of our iOpenArchitecture campaign, we thought now would be a great time to hold our first official chapter event for one of our important initiatives - the homelessness crisis we face in Los Angeles.
The number of homeless on the streets continues to grow and although there are promising signs that our government is taking steps to address the problem, we must ask ourselves - how can we help? How can design help address this epidemic? Join us for an enlightening discussion over drinks and meet fellow volunteers and community leaders. Please RSVP to attend: http://oacla.org/launch-party/

Guest Speakers:
Simon Ha –
Principal at Steinberg Architects and Board Member of the Skid Row Housing Trust
Tina Hovsepian -
Cardborigami
Povertees -
the non-profit will be in attendance and selling shirts!

Special thanks to Steinberg Architects for hosting.

OACLA is a chapter in the Open Architecture Collaborative, formerly known as Architecture for Humanity. We partner with local non-profit organizations, schools, municipalities, and community groups to first listen to the needs of our city then apply design as a solution to issues through the use of our creative volunteers.
We strive to create innovative, sustainable, and affordable solutions for the humanitarian issues that span across Southern California.
Visit our website
