Description:
"Net zero energy buildings" is the latest buzz phrase in the building community, but who has built one and how do we get to zero? This session gathers a stellar panel of speakers (listed below) to share several short 18 minute "TED style" case studies on successful high performance NZE buildings with information shared on the energy conservation measures (ECM's) employed on each project.

Other discussion topics include: curbing consumption, increasing efficiency, driving occupant behavior, and the relationship between NZE buildings and green building rating systems including LEED and the Living Building Challenge. The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) created a strategic plan calling for, among other energy efficiency goals, net zero energy commercial buildings by 2030 and net zero energy residential construction by 2020. Stay ahead of the industry and your competitors to see how this is done before code forces you to do so. Architects, Engineers, Contractors and Consultants are all encouraged to attend.

Continuing education units for USGBC and AIA credential holders will be available.
