Learn About Santa Monica’s New ZNE Reach Code

The City of Santa Monica recently approved the State’s first code requiring all new single family homes to be zero net energy (ZNE). The City is eager to notify the design community so practitioners understand how and when it will be implemented. This presentation will discuss the cost-effectiveness study, resources to assist with compliance and how this paves the way for the State’s plans in 2020.

Speakers:

Joel Cesare – Sustainable Building Advisor, City of Santa Monica

Javier Mariscal – Energy Codes and Standards, Southern California Edison

Ron Takiguchi - Building Official, City of Santa Monica
