PRESENTERS

Horton Lees Brogden Lighting Design

Rising energy costs and increasingly stringent energy codes have made lighting a strong focus in sustainable design. It’s critical for designers to understand the latest strategies and technologies in integrated lighting design to achieve high-impact, highly efficient buildings.

This seminar explains the trends which are driving lighting today - trends in energy and sustainable design; trends in lighting products, including emerging technologies such as LEDs; and trends in lighting applications to meet sustainability goals while achieving extraordinary visual impact.

Experienced, professional lighting designers with a broad knowledge base and wide variety of project types will discuss these trends in detail.

This four-part seminar will provide the following:

1. A review of current energy codes and strategies for how to effectively meet these codes while maintaining high design impact.
2. A review of existing and emerging lighting technologies, including LEDs, linear and compact fluorescent, and energy efficient halogen light sources.
3. Case studies showing a variety of application project types which successfully integrate daylighting and electric lighting strategies with cutting-edge technologies and control systems.
4. A discussion of the potential pros and cons of emerging technologies such as LEDs, and what designers should consider when applying these technologies in projects.

A special thank you to Knoll for hosting this event in their new space and to Prudential Ligating Products for providing refreshments.
