BUILDING FORWARD LA is a new initiative that the Office of Mayor Eric Garcetti is launching in partnership with local and national organizations. It supports refreshing and “futurizing” policies and processes that influence how we design and build our city’s buildings. Our aim is to help LA grow to be more sustainable and resilient.

We are seeking input from experts in all fields to create a framework for identifying and prioritizing potential changes to policies and processes. The aim of Building Forward LA is to encourage buildings of all types to integrate advancements and innovations in design, engineering, and construction, and take full advantage of our buildings’ ability to improve our environment.

Join us for a knowledge exchange to kick-off this initiative. Please share this invitation with any of your colleagues who might be interested in joining. Please RSVP as space is limited.

PROGRAM

We will hear from experts on topics ranging from resilience and reuse to achieving net zero plus. Attendees will tour several knowledge exchange stations to dive deeper into areas of interest. Our goal for these exchanges is to spark discussion from designers, academics, urbanists and technologists about how building rules and processes can be improved to work toward making Los Angeles a more sustainable and resilient city.
