Re: The 30-10 Plan
Dear Mayor Villaraigosa:
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA|LA) I am writing to pledge our full support for your 30-10 Plan. Expediting thirty years of Measure R transit projects into ten years is a positive step forward for the economy and the environment, and will enable the Los Angeles region to meet the objectives of SB375 and AB32 more quickly.
Expediting the design and construction of our transit system will ensure the ongoing economic competitiveness of the region as a whole, as we compete with other cities on a global stage to attract and retain businesses and people to live, work and recreate in our City. Your plan will also create much needed jobs for the design and construction industry which will further the economic recovery of Los Angeles.
As you forward your consensus building efforts with our state and federal representatives, AIA|LA expresses its support and stands ready to assist. We are here to serve as a knowledge and leadership resource and encourage you to integrate us into your outreach and implementation plans as you see appropriate.
Very truly yours,
Paul Danna, AIA President AIA Los Angeles
