A memorial celebrating John Leighton Chase's life will take place Tuesday, August 24 in West Hollywood's Plummer Park from 4-7PM. Dress for John, in the brightest colors ever!


It is with deepest regret and sympathy that we share with you the news that John Leighton Chase, long time Associate AIA member and friend, passed away early morning on Friday, August 13. He was 57 years old.

For over 14 years, John was the Urban Designer for the City of West Hollywood. He was also a published author and owned his own design office. Most recently John taught architecture history and theory at SCI-Arc, USC, and Art Center College of Design. He also co-chaired the AIA|LA Urban Design Committee.

AIA|LA sends its heartfelt condolences to John's family and friends.
