In Memoriam: Cornelius Michael Deasy, FAIA

Cornelius Michael (Neil) Deasy, 92, died in his sleep at his home in San Luis Obispo on August 14, 2010. His three daughters were with him when he passed away. His wife had died in 2008, the 67th year of their marriage.

I enrolled in the Master of Architecture program at SLO so that I could become involved in his coursework with respect to post-occupancy evaluation. His work was significant and a precursor to much of the human behavioral research that took place in building environments. His book, Design for Human Affairs, is still a classic.
