Chasing Contemporary Architecture for the 2010 Design Awards Party

AIA|LA aims to promote innovative design to its members and friends at large. For this reason, AIA|LA is hosting the 2010 Design Awards Reception and Program at the Lynda and Stewart Resnick Pavilion, a new addition to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The pavilion, designed by internationally acclaimed Renzo Piano, is a single-story, glass and stone-enclosed structure sited north of the Broad Contemporary Art Museum (BCAM). The glass roof and ceiling elements flood the galleries with natural light and the floor plan accommodates multiple exhibitions at once as well as large-scale works of art.

As part of the 2010 Design Awards Reception on October 27, guests will be given an exclusive first look tour of the brand new pavilion prior to the commencement of the Design Awards Program where winners of the 2010 Design and NEXT LA Awards will be announced along with this year's Presidential Honorees.

Submissions to the 2010 Design and NEXT LA Awards can be viewed across the street at the A+D Museum where they will be exhibited from September 10 to October 28. The Jury for the Design Awards convenes on September 10, the same day as the exhibit opens with a reception sponsored by ClearEdge Power, and will meet at 6pm at A+D Muuseum for a roundtable discussion about this year's entrants.
