The American Institute of Architects Los Angeles Chapter proudly announces the winners of the first annual Arch Is_ program.

Congratulations to:
Dwayne Oyler and Jenny Wu - Oyler Wu Collaborative, Los Angeles, CA
Tom Wiscombe - EMERGENT, Los Angeles, CA

The winners will receive a $500 cash prize, a Young Architectural Talent award certificate from the AIA/LA Chapter, and the invitation to present a 30 minute lecture based on the architectural position and design work submitted.

The jury composed by Scott Johnson FAIA, Principal of Johnson Fain; Christopher Hawthorne, Architectural Critic for the LA Times; Brook Hodge, Independent Curator; Hitoshi Abe - Chair of the Dept. of Architecture and Urban Design at UCLA also decided to award two certificates of Honorable Mention to:

Cathy Johnson and Rebecca Rudolph - Design, Bitches, Los Angeles, CA
Kevin Wronske - Heyday Partnership, Los Angeles, CA

The award ceremony and lectures are scheduled for Monday, April 5 2010, 7 pm at SCI-Arc (960 East 3rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013).

Arch Is_ is a competition to select two exceptional young architects/designers chosen by a distinguished panel of jurors. The winners of the AIA Los Angeles "Young Architectural Talent" Awards will receive a cash prize, give a public lecture, and be featured on the AIA|LA Chapter website.

This competition is open to any architectural design collaborations, architectural design partnerships, architects, or architectural designers residing in California who have graduated from an accredited architecture school in the last 5 to 12 years.
