AIA LOS ANGELES ANNOUNCES THE 2010 PRESIDENTIAL HONOREES

LOS ANGELES, CA (July 29, 2010) - AIA Los Angeles (AIA|LA) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2010 Presidential Awards. The Honorees will be celebrated together with the Design Award Winners at the 2010 Design Awards Party being held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on October 27, 2010.

Each year, the AIA|LA President and the AIA|LA Board of Directors presents select members and affiliates of the architectural community with the Presidential Award in recognition of their significant contributions to the built environment at large.

President Paul Danna, AIA is proud of the versatility among this year's recipients, "the 2010 Presidential Award recipients are a diverse group: architects, builders, patrons, publishers, educators and non-profit leaders."

Honorees range from architects to architectural firms, non-profit organizations to large construction companies and from those who write about architecture to those who finance it. "What is common to all [the recipients] is the belief that architecture and urban design can improve the lives of others. Each has demonstrated their commitment to this ideal in their own unique way and the results of their efforts have benefited us all," explains Danna.

While Danna selected the majority of the Presidential Honorees, there are three awards chosen by the entire Board of Directors. These include the Twenty-Five Year Award, Firm of the Year Award and the Honorary AIA Award.
